Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions worth around ₹24 crore for several development projects across the state. The approved projects focus on improving drinking water facilities, sewerage systems, river rejuvenation, environmental conservation, modernization of laboratories, and religious and educational infrastructure.
₹9 Crore Approved for Drinking Water and Sewerage Projects in Haridwar
The Chief Minister has sanctioned multiple water-related projects in the Haridwar district.
Under the approval:
- ₹1.43 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of 200 hand pumps in the Bhagwanpur Assembly constituency.
- ₹3.16 crore has been approved for strengthening the sewerage system in Roorkee city.
- ₹4.50 crore has been allocated for replacing damaged drinking water distribution pipelines in New Haridwar Model Colony and Govindpuri areas.
These projects are expected to improve access to clean drinking water and enhance basic urban infrastructure for residents.
Modern Automatic Analyzer Systems Approved for Water Quality Testing
To improve water quality monitoring facilities in Uttarakhand, the government has approved ₹2.54 crore for the purchase of Automatic Analyzer Systems for district-level laboratories in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions.
The modern equipment will help laboratories conduct faster and more accurate testing of water quality and other essential parameters.
₹10 Crore Allocated for River Rejuvenation and Environmental Protection
As part of environmental conservation efforts, the Uttarakhand government has approved major funds for river restoration projects.
- ₹6.02 crore has been sanctioned for the rejuvenation and treatment work of Gadool River, a tributary of the Soung River in Dehradun district.
- ₹4.17 crore has been approved for the rejuvenation and treatment of Kamal Ganga River in Uttarkashi district.
The projects aim to restore river ecosystems, improve water flow, and support long-term environmental sustainability.
Development Works Approved for Religious and Tourism Infrastructure
The Chief Minister has also approved funds for improving religious and tourism-related infrastructure:
- ₹74.38 lakh has been sanctioned for protective and development works at Okhaldunga Lake in Champawat Assembly constituency.
- ₹56.51 lakh has been approved for the beautification of the newly constructed Durga Temple in Bengali Colony, Nanakmatta.
- ₹72.83 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of a dharamshala at Maa Mangla Bhagwati Mata Temple complex in Seraghat, Almora district.
Funds Approved for Educational Infrastructure Development
The government has also approved ₹53.18 lakh for the construction of a boundary wall at Lala Om Prakash Gyandeep Girls Inter College in the Laladhang Nyaya Panchayat area of Haridwar district.
The project will improve safety and infrastructure facilities for students.
Uttarakhand Government’s Focus on Sustainable Development
With these approvals, the Uttarakhand government has emphasized balanced development through improved public services, environmental protection, and infrastructure expansion. The projects covering water supply, sanitation, river conservation, education, and religious facilities are expected to benefit thousands of residents across different districts of the state.
