Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that the state government will soon approach the Centre for support in constructing the 26 km long Rispana-Bindal elevated road to address Dehradun’s growing traffic congestion. He also said that a special grant has been sought from NITI Aayog for improving facilities for the state’s increasing floating tourist population.

Focus on Tourism Infrastructure Ahead of Delhi-Dehradun Elevated Road
Addressing a program held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday, Mr. Dhami noted that with the completion of the Delhi-Dehradun elevated corridor, a surge in tourist arrivals is expected. In anticipation, the state government is proactively working to enhance tourism infrastructure and public services.
Destination Uttarakhand: Positioning the State on the Global Map
Highlighting the state’s tourism vision, Chief Minister Dhami said, “Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is a blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and spiritual energy.” He reiterated the commitment of the state government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, to establish Destination Uttarakhand on the global tourism map.
He informed that a dedicated tourism policy has been framed to create an investor-friendly environment and promote tourism segments such as:
- Religious tourism
- Adventure tourism
- Eco-tourism
- Wellness tourism
- Agro-tourism
- Film tourism
The Manaskhand corridor is being developed on the lines of Kedarkhand, while Rishikesh and Haridwar are being internationally promoted as hubs of yoga and spirituality.
Boost to Film Industry and National Recognition
The Chief Minister said that the government has implemented a single window clearance system for film shooting permissions in Uttarakhand. Additionally, special subsidies and incentives are being provided to filmmakers. As a result of these initiatives, Uttarakhand has been conferred the ‘Most Film Friendly State’ award at the National Film Awards.
Commitment to Make Uttarakhand a Leading State
Reiterating his government’s resolve, Mr. Dhami said, “We are fully committed to our ‘no-option’ resolution of transforming Uttarakhand into one of India’s leading states.” The Chief Minister stressed on continued development across sectors to meet the evolving needs of both residents and visitors.
The event was also attended by Mr. Banshidhar Tiwari, Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister, Ms. Surekha Dangwal, Vice Chancellor of Doon University, and other dignitaries.
