Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Approves ₹75 Crore for Cyber Security, Roads, and Social Development

Major boost for Uttarakhand with ₹31.63 crore Cyber Centre in Dehradun, ₹40+ crore road projects, and welfare initiatives for SC/ST communities

Dehradun: In a major push toward strengthening infrastructure and tackling rising cybercrime, Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, has approved financial sanctions exceeding ₹75 crore for multiple development projects across the state. The initiatives focus on cyber security, road infrastructure, and social welfare schemes, ensuring balanced growth across sectors.

Cyber Centre of Excellence to Boost Digital Security

The biggest highlight of the announcement is the establishment of a state-of-the-art Cyber Centre of Excellence in Dehradun. A budget of ₹31.63 crore has been allocated for this project.

The center aims to:

  • Strengthen cybercrime prevention mechanisms
  • Enhance technical capabilities of law enforcement
  • Address the growing threat of digital fraud and cyber offenses

This initiative is expected to significantly improve the state’s preparedness against cyber threats.

Over ₹40 Crore Allocated for Road Infrastructure

The government has also prioritized road development to improve connectivity and boost regional growth.

Key projects include:

  • ₹22.72 crore for road reconstruction in Kichha, connecting NH-109 through Pandit Ram Sumer Shukla Government Medical College, Atria Mata Temple turn, SIDCUL, and Anandpur up to SH-44.
  • ₹19.40 crore for the improvement and reconstruction of the Shimla Pistaur–Kurainya motor road.

These upgrades are expected to enhance transportation efficiency and ease daily commutes for residents.

Improved Connectivity in Roorkee

To further strengthen transport infrastructure, ₹1.30 crore has been sanctioned for constructing an approach road to the Sub-Divisional Transport Office in Roorkee. This will improve accessibility and benefit local commuters.

Focus on Social Welfare and SC/ST Development

The government has also invested in social welfare, particularly in Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe-dominated areas:

  • ₹67.42 lakh for repair and maintenance of the Government SC Girls Hostel in Mussoorie
  • ₹18.06 lakh for installation of a tube well and mast lighting at the Government Tribal Hostel in Khatima

These initiatives aim to improve living conditions and provide better facilities for students.

Balanced Development Across Key Sectors

These approvals underline the Uttarakhand government’s commitment to simultaneous progress in security, infrastructure, and social development. With timely implementation, these projects are expected to accelerate economic growth and improve quality of life across the state.
