Dehradun: Strengthening basic infrastructure in the Mussoorie Assembly constituency, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi on Sunday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth ₹6.17 crore. The program was held at the Nagal Hatanala Community Building, marking a significant step toward improving drinking water supply, road connectivity, and drainage systems in the region.
Inauguration of Nagal Hatanala Drinking Water Scheme
A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the long-awaited Nagal Hatanala Drinking Water Scheme in Ward No. 04, Rajpur, developed at a cost of ₹398.96 lakh. The project is expected to provide substantial relief from chronic water shortages faced by Rajpur and nearby areas.
The drinking water scheme is aimed at ensuring a reliable and sustainable water supply, addressing one of the most pressing issues faced by local residents for years.

Road and Drainage Projects Launched
In addition to the water scheme, foundation stones were laid for road and drainage construction works worth ₹188.36 lakh in the Nagal Hatanala, Chalang, and Kulhan areas. These projects are expected to significantly reduce problems caused during the monsoon season, particularly waterlogging and damaged roads.
The minister also dedicated ₹23 lakh worth of development works by the Mandi Parishad to the public during the event.
Focus on Quality and Timely Execution
Addressing the gathering, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi emphasized that the government’s priority is not limited to announcements, but on visible and tangible development on the ground. He stated that essential services such as drinking water, roads, and drainage directly impact the daily lives of citizens, and there will be no compromise on quality.
The minister directed officials to ensure that all construction works are completed within the stipulated time frame and as per prescribed standards.
Senior Citizens and Party Workers Honoured
During the program, several senior citizens and active party workers were felicitated for their contributions to society and public service. Those honoured included former Chalang village head Ramlal Thakur, Prem Pathak, Meenakshi Bhatt, Kamal Gupta, Ravindra Singh, Kalam Singh Ramola, Rakhi Pundir, Ranveer, and Umesh Tyagi.
Relief for Residents and Boost to Regional Development
Local residents welcomed the initiatives, stating that these demands had been pending for a long time and are now finally being addressed. The implementation of the drinking water scheme is expected to bring major relief from water scarcity, while improved roads and drainage will help mitigate seasonal hardships.
If executed efficiently and with quality standards, these projects are being seen as a crucial step toward the overall and sustainable development of the Mussoorie Assembly constituency.
