The Uttarakhand government clarified that the empanelment process for IPS officers at the Centre falls under the jurisdiction of the Union Home Ministry, and the state government’s role is limited to providing vigilance status and profiles of the concerned officers upon request. An official press release stated that the Home Ministry requests the vigilance status forms for IPS officers, and the state government fulfills this requirement.
In the case of the empanelment of 2006 batch officers—Sweety Agarwal, Arun Mohan Joshi, Anant Shankar Takwale, and Rajiv Swaroop—the state government was directed to provide their vigilance status and profiles. These were submitted to the Government of India in November 2023.
Additionally, forms for five officers from the 2004/2005 batch, four from the 2007 batch, and two from the 1997 batch were sent to the Union Home Ministry on November 27, 2024, following requests made in October 2024.
The state government emphasized that it does not handle the empanelment process but ensures timely submission of the requested vigilance profiles as per the Union Home Ministry’s requirements.
