CM Yadav Highlights the Significance of the Song

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), CM Yadav stated,
“The ‘Vande Mataram Commemoration’ program is a unique example of PM Modi’s vision to preserve patriotism and our cultural heritage. Today, I inaugurated the state-level program in Bhopal and also participated virtually in the national event in New Delhi.”

He emphasized that ‘Vande Mataram’ ignites the spirit of freedom and devotion to the motherland, inspiring citizens to stay connected with their roots and uphold their dedication to India.

Vande Mataram: 150 Years of Patriotism

The Government of India has declared a year-long celebration from November 7, 2025, to November 7, 2026, to mark the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’.

Written in 1876 by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and later included in his 1882 novel ‘Anandamath’, the song became a symbol of Indian nationalism during the freedom movement. Addressing the motherland as a goddess, the poem is often translated as “Hail to the Motherland” and remains one of India’s most cherished patriotic songs.
