New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL) Chairperson & Managing Director Vartika Shukla has been conferred with the SCOPE Eminence Award for Individual Leadership Excellence – Commendation (Maharatna & Navratna PSEs). The prestigious award was presented by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The award recognises Ms. Shukla’s transformative leadership and outstanding contribution to the growth, innovation, and global expansion of EIL — a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The award ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, DPE Secretary K Moses Chalai, and other senior officials. The SCOPE (Standing Conference of Public Enterprises) Eminence Awards aim to celebrate exemplary leadership and organisational performance across India’s public sector enterprises.

About Vartika Shukla: A Trailblazer in Indian Engineering

An alumna of IIT Kanpur (Chemical Engineering, 1988) and a certified Executive General Manager from IIM Lucknow, Ms. Shukla began her career as a Management Trainee in EIL’s Process Division. Over the past three decades, she has played a pivotal role in:

  • Executing major projects in refining, petrochemicals, and fertilizers
  • Forging strategic partnerships
  • Leading teams in India and abroad across the hydrocarbon value chain

Today, she is widely recognised as a transformative figure in India’s energy and engineering landscape and a role model for aspiring professionals — particularly women — in STEM and leadership roles.

Industry Contributions and Recognition

Beyond her corporate leadership, Ms. Shukla is actively engaged in key industry platforms, including:

  • FIPI (Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry)
  • CII (Confederation of Indian Industry)
