Raigarh: On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri 2026, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with his wife Kaushalya Sai, visited Kosmanara village near Raigarh late at night to offer prayers at the Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba Dham. Around 1:00 AM, the Chief Minister performed rituals and worship for Lord Shiva and Satyanarayan Baba, seeking blessings for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the state.
Foundation of ₹1.20 Crore Development Projects
During his visit, CM Sai laid the foundation for various development works worth ₹1.20 crore, funded through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF). The proposed projects include:
- Granite flooring and shed construction in front of the main building
- Rest and dining facilities for pilgrims
- Construction of a modern toilet complex
- Development of CC roads in the parking area
The Chief Minister highlighted that these upgrades will significantly improve the convenience and experience of devotees visiting the Dham.
Kosmanara Dham: A Center of Faith and Spiritual Energy
CM Sai described Kosmanara Dham as an important spiritual center whose energy positively influences society. He expressed confidence that with the blessings of saints and the support of citizens, the state government will continue to advance initiatives for public welfare.
Rich History and Tradition of Tapasya
Located approximately 7 km from Raigarh district headquarters, the Dham has long been a focal point for devotees. Local traditions note that Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba has been engaged in intense penance since 1998. In 2003, he was conferred the title ‘Shri Shri 108’. According to accounts, Baba collected stones to shape a Shivalinga and continues to worship Lord Shiva in open spaces throughout the year.
Presence of Dignitaries and Public
The Mahashivratri celebrations witnessed the presence of several prominent officials and elected representatives, including Mayor Jivardhan Chauhan, Municipal Corporation President Digrelal Sahu, Collector Mayank Chaturvedi, SSP Shashimohan Singh, along with numerous devotees who joined the event to offer their prayers.
