New Delhi: The concluding ceremony of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2025, conducted at Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) from 18 August to 17 November 2025, was held on 28 November at the WCL Headquarters. The event was presided over by WCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Mr. J. P. Dwivedi, while Mr. Brajesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief Vigilance Officer of Coal India Limited (CIL), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Key Dignitaries in Attendance
The event saw the presence of senior officials, including Director (Finance) Mr. Bikram Ghosh, Director Technical (Operations / Projects & Planning) Mr. Anandji Prasad, Director (Human Resources) Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Chief Vigilance Officer Mr. Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, and General Manager (Excavation / Vigilance), CIL, Mr. Sanjay Jha. Numerous department heads, officers, and employees participated in the concluding event.
CMD Highlights Preventive Vigilance
In his address, Mr. J. P. Dwivedi emphasized WCL’s commitment to preventive vigilance and urged all employees to remain well-informed about relevant rules and policies and apply them diligently in their daily operations. He appreciated the various competitions and activities conducted by the Vigilance Department during the campaign and congratulated the winners for their achievements.
CIL Chief Guest Stresses Ethics and Women Empowerment
Mr. Brajesh Kumar Tripathi highlighted the importance of women empowerment through initiatives such as the Pink Dispensary and lauded inspirational examples like shovel operator Smt. Meenakshi Kapoor. He reinforced the message that vigilance is a shared responsibility and emphasized ethical practices, accountability in AI, PIDPI awareness, and integrity. Mr. Tripathi also referred to Coal India’s recent recognition on the cover of Business Today and its ‘Great Place to Work’ certification, underscoring the organization’s commitment to ethical governance.
Competitions and Programs Celebrate Participation
Chief Vigilance Officer Mr. Ajay Madhukar Mhetre detailed the various competitions, programs, and initiatives conducted under the campaign. He emphasized the role of participative vigilance in improving work systems and fostering an ethical workplace culture.
Release of Souvenir and Felicitation of Winners
During the ceremony, the dignitaries released the souvenir titled ‘Pahal’, a compendium of circulars and vigilance activities. Winners of the competitions held during the campaign were felicitated, recognizing their engagement and contributions towards promoting vigilance awareness. The program was anchored by Mr. Milind Chahande, Manager (Public Relations), and Mr. Manoj Kumar Gupta, General Manager (Vigilance), proposed the vote of thanks.
