In a significant reshuffle within the IPS cadre, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Birbhum district, along with two other senior officers, has been transferred. On Friday, the Home and Hill Affairs department issued an official order detailing the changes.
Raj Narayan Mukherjee, the outgoing SP of Birbhum, has been reassigned as SP, Traffic, in the state police. Amandeep, who previously served as SP of East Burdwan district, has been appointed as the new SP of Birbhum.
Meanwhile, Sayak Das, Special Superintendent (SS) in the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been elevated to SP of East Burdwan district. Notably, a few months ago, Amandeep had undergone training, during which Das temporarily took charge as SP of East Burdwan. With this reshuffle, Das has now been permanently assigned to the role, while Amandeep has been shifted to oversee Birbhum.
