New Delhi: The Central Government has approved the appointment of Ravi Shankar Chhabi (IPS: 2007: UP) as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on central deputation, according to notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Monday by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The appointment has been cleared by the competent authority against an existing vacancy in the CRPF, in accordance with the usual terms and conditions governing central deputation.
MHA Order and Deputation Details
As per the MHA order dated January 19, 2026, Ravi Shankar Chhabi’s appointment as DIG in CRPF has received formal approval. Following this, the Uttar Pradesh government has been requested to relieve him immediately to enable him to take charge of his new assignment at the Centre.
At present, Chhabi is serving in Uttar Pradesh as DIG, Public Grievances, at the DGP Headquarters, Lucknow.
