Lucknow: Denmark’s Ambassador to India, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday in Lucknow, where both sides held detailed discussions on investment opportunities and technical cooperation across key sectors.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring partnerships in defence manufacturing, renewable energy, water management, skill development, and agriculture.
Denmark Appreciates UP’s Growth and Investment Climate
The Danish Ambassador praised the transformation of Uttar Pradesh over the past nine years under CM Yogi Adityanath’s leadership. He noted that the state has emerged as a major investment destination with improved infrastructure, skilled manpower, and a large consumer base.
He said Uttar Pradesh, once not prominently seen on the investment map, has now become a preferred destination for global investors.
Interest in Defence Corridor and Industrial Collaboration
Denmark expressed strong interest in Uttar Pradesh’s Defence Corridor, highlighting its own expertise in defence technology.
The Ambassador said Danish companies are keen to explore investment and technical collaboration opportunities in the defence sector, strengthening industrial cooperation between the two regions.
Focus on Renewable Energy and Green Technology
Both sides discussed expanding cooperation in renewable energy, including:
- Solar energy
- Waste-to-energy projects
- Hydrogen technology
Denmark highlighted its advanced capabilities in green technology and expressed willingness to partner with Uttar Pradesh in building a sustainable energy ecosystem.
Water Management and River Restoration Projects
Water management emerged as another key area of collaboration. The Ambassador informed that a joint project with IIT (BHU) is underway focusing on river rejuvenation and water treatment technologies.
He also indicated plans to visit Varanasi soon to review ongoing work and explore further cooperation.
Skill Development, Healthcare and Education Cooperation
Skill development and knowledge exchange were highlighted as crucial areas of partnership. Denmark proposed collaboration in training programmes, language skills, and workforce development to help connect Uttar Pradesh’s youth with global job opportunities.
The discussion also included elderly healthcare, where Denmark’s experience could support emerging healthcare needs.
Agriculture and Food Processing Opportunities
Agriculture and food processing were also identified as key sectors for future collaboration. Denmark expressed interest in working with Uttar Pradesh in:
- Modern agricultural technologies
- Food processing systems
- Supply chain management
These initiatives aim to improve productivity and promote value-added agricultural products.
CM Yogi Invites Danish Investment in UP
CM Yogi Adityanath invited Danish companies to invest in Uttar Pradesh, assuring them of a transparent policy environment, strong law and order, and world-class infrastructure.
He said the state government is committed to providing full support and a secure environment for international investors.
Future Growth Through Global Partnership
The Chief Minister emphasized that collaboration with Denmark in sectors like defence, renewable energy, water management, and skill development will boost employment, accelerate technological advancement, and strengthen sustainable development in the state.
