Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for India’s growing economic strength and progress in self-reliance, innovation and development. He said the principle of “Nation First” had strengthened the country’s democratic foundations and placed citizens at the centre of policymaking.

In a post on X, Adityanath described India as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies and highlighted developments in public welfare, social justice, women’s empowerment and digital innovation. He said public participation was helping transform the country’s development journey into a broader people’s movement.

In his post, Adityanath wrote:

“Under the visionary and decisive leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has scripted a new chapter of its economic strength on the global stage. Today, India leads among the world’s fastest-growing major economies and is establishing new benchmarks in self-reliance, innovation, and development.”

India’s economic performance has also featured in international assessments. The International Monetary Fund’s October 2026 World Economic Outlook database provides updated economic indicators and projections for countries, including India.

‘Nation First’ and Public Welfare at the Centre of Governance

Adityanath said the “Nation First” principle was reinforcing democratic values by prioritising ordinary citizens and public welfare.

He wrote:

“With the spirit of ‘Nation First,’ the roots of democracy have grown even stronger in the ‘New India.’ The common people are at the centre of policymaking, poor welfare is the priority of governance, Antyodaya forms the foundation of self-reliance, and public participation is transforming development into a people’s movement.”

The Chief Minister also highlighted Antyodaya, a concept centred on the upliftment of the most disadvantaged sections of society. He linked the principle to welfare-oriented governance and efforts to make development more inclusive.

Key themes highlighted in his statement included:

  • Economic growth: Strengthening India’s position in the global economy.
  • Self-reliance and innovation: Advancing domestic capabilities and technological development.
  • Public welfare: Keeping ordinary citizens and the needs of poorer sections central to policymaking.
  • Social justice: Expanding opportunities and addressing social inequalities.
  • Women’s empowerment: Supporting women’s participation in development.
  • Public participation: Encouraging citizens to contribute to the country’s development journey.

Social Justice, Women’s Empowerment and Digital Innovation

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said India’s development was creating opportunities across multiple sectors, including social justice, women’s empowerment, digital innovation and economic prosperity.

In his post, he wrote:

“In this New India, brimming with faith, identity, and self-confidence, the possibilities of social justice, women’s empowerment, digital innovation, and economic prosperity are coming to life.”

Adityanath also said the country’s development process was expanding national capabilities by turning people’s aspirations into opportunities. His remarks linked economic progress with wider social and technological changes.

Adityanath Calls for National Unity Amid Global Instability

Adityanath referred to violence and instability in parts of the world, arguing that India was continuing its development journey amid international uncertainty.

He also criticised what he described as political forces seeking to create instability and separatism for their own interests. These were his political allegations, made as part of his broader appeal for national unity and the prioritisation of national interests.

Adityanath reiterated that India would continue pursuing its development goals despite the challenges he described. His statement placed economic progress, democratic stability and cultural identity within the broader framework of nation-building.

The remarks underscore the Chief Minister’s emphasis on economic growth, welfare-oriented governance and public participation as central themes in India’s development narrative under the Modi government.
