Azamgarh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a new dairy processing center under the state industrial policy in Miria Rehda village, Azamgarh. The facility aims to provide employment opportunities to thousands of women while strengthening the dairy sector and local economy.
CM Highlights Urban Development Initiatives
During the inauguration, CM Yogi announced that under the Chief Minister Urban Incentive Scheme, the Azamgarh Development Authority has been allocated ₹400 crore. This funding will be used to establish the Tamsa Garden Enclave, which will feature:
- 2,000 affordable residential plots
- Commercial complexes, gyms, banks, and substations
- Complete security and modern urban facilities
The initiative is expected to provide better living conditions and infrastructure for local residents.

Empowering Women Through Dairy Industry
The Miria Rehda dairy is the fifth in Azamgarh district and provides employment to thousands of women. The plant collects 1.70 lakh liters of milk daily, contributing significantly to the local economy. CM Yogi emphasized:
“When women become self-reliant, families and society prosper. This dairy supports the vision of a developed and self-sufficient India.”
Earlier dairy plants were set up in Jhansi, Varanasi, Agra, and Lucknow. The government has also allocated ₹200 crore for upcoming dairies in Bareilly and Prayagraj.
Animal Welfare and Community Support
CM Yogi highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to animal welfare:
- Over 7,700 cow shelters established
- Ban on cow slaughter
- Nutrition support for malnourished children via cow milk, along with ₹1,500 monthly aid
These measures form part of broader community welfare initiatives in rural areas.
Innovations and Technology in Agriculture
The event also featured:
- Flagging off of mobile veterinary vans
- Launch of artificial insemination freezing facilities
- Recognition of women using biogas technology for sustainable farming
These efforts aim to modernize agriculture and livestock management in the region.

Promotion of Cultural and Educational Initiatives
CM Yogi highlighted cultural development in Azamgarh, especially in Hariharpur village, known for music, dance, and drama. A music college has been established to nurture local talent, reflecting the government’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage.

- MLC Ram Surath Rajbhar, district and regional BJP leaders, and former MPs and MLAs
Minister Dara Singh Chauhan praised CM Yogi’s nine-year uninterrupted service, calling him a role model for development and governance. Minister Anil Rajbhar noted that Uttar Pradesh leads the country in milk production, contributing 16–17% of India’s total output, with dairy employment expected to expand further.
