Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday expressed optimism that Naxalism in the state could be eliminated before the March 2026 deadline, setting the stage for accelerated industrial and economic development in the mineral-rich region.
Speaking at the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect event, CM Sai urged Gujarati entrepreneurs to invest in the state without apprehension, highlighting the opportunities created by the ongoing security and development efforts.
Naxalism Hurdle Being Addressed
CM Sai underscored that Naxalism has historically stalled industrial growth in Chhattisgarh, but significant progress has been made under central guidance. “In January 2024, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah set the goal of eliminating Naxalism by March 31, 2026. We are succeeding in our campaign,” he said.
He added that several key Naxal leaders have already been neutralized and emphasized that many militants have surrendered under the state’s rehabilitation policy, receiving homes, land, financial aid, and essential amenities including rations, electricity, and water.
Gujarat Investments and Industrial Growth
The Chief Minister highlighted eight Gujarat-based companies that signed MoUs with the Chhattisgarh government during the event, promising investments worth Rs. 33,000 crore.
“Chhattisgarh has received investment proposals totaling Rs. 7 lakh crore in the past 10 months. Naxalism was the main obstacle to development, but with enhanced security and support from the Industrial Department, we are confident entrepreneurs will find the state safe and promising for business,” CM Sai added.
The CM assured investors that the government will provide full support and facilitation to ensure smooth implementation of industrial projects.
Development Vision Post-Naxalism
CM Sai reiterated that the elimination of Naxalism will unlock Chhattisgarh’s full economic potential, particularly in its mineral-rich regions. He emphasized the state government’s commitment to infrastructure, rehabilitation, and public amenities, creating a conducive environment for industrial growth and socio-economic development.
“Our vision is a Chhattisgarh free of violence and fully open for investment, where economic prosperity benefits every citizen,” CM Sai said.
