In a heartwarming gesture of responsive and humane governance, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai once again showcased his compassionate leadership during a public hearing held at his residence on Thursday. The event, part of his regular Jan Darshan initiative, became a reflection of the government’s people-centric governance model and its commitment to inclusive development.

During the session, Mr. Sai approved a financial assistance grant of Rs. 90,000 for differently-abled rugby player Mr. Pintu Ram Sahu from Abhanpur, Raipur district. The amount was provided to him directly via cheque, symbolizing prompt administrative action and sensitivity toward citizens’ aspirations.
Supporting Sports and Inclusion
Mr. Pintu Ram Sahu, who has represented Chhattisgarh in wheelchair rugby for the past four years, had sought help to buy a new sports wheelchair and equipment. He recently participated in a national-level competition held in Gwalior and continues to inspire others through his dedication to adaptive sports.
Expressing gratitude, Mr. Sahu said, “I am thankful to the Chief Minister for his support. This encouragement has given me new energy to work harder and bring glory to the state.”
Mr. Sai’s gesture underscores the Chhattisgarh government’s broader vision to promote inclusivity in sports and ensure that athletes from every background—especially differently-abled sportspersons—receive the recognition and support they deserve.
Empowering Children with Disabilities
The public hearing also witnessed a touching interaction between the Chief Minister and 11-year-old Ms. Poonam from the Telibandha area of Raipur, who suffers from cerebral palsy. Despite her condition, Poonam creates intricate paintings using her feet, showcasing her extraordinary artistic talent.
Mr. Sai spoke affectionately with the young artist and her mother, assuring them of full government support. He directed officials to arrange her admission to a special school and provide her with a scholarship for continued education. “The government stands with every child who dares to dream,” said Mr. Sai, reinforcing his administration’s focus on empowerment through compassion.
Art Meets Devotion: A Micro Artist’s Tribute
Adding a unique cultural dimension to the session, 55-year-old artist Mr. Ankush Dewangan from Bhilai presented his intricate micro artwork—a half-centimeter marble statue of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi framed with a microscopic lens. The reverse side of the frame featured a finely engraved image of the Shri Ram Lalla Temple in Ayodhya, symbolizing devotion and craftsmanship.
Mr. Sai praised the artwork, saying, “This is not merely art—it is an emblem of devotion, patience, and respect. Mr. Dewangan’s creation captures both national pride and personal dedication.” The Chief Minister also announced that the government would provide the artist with a platform for a state-level exhibition and that the piece would be displayed in his office as a tribute to artistic excellence.
Mr. Dewangan shared that the artwork took nearly two months to complete. “I work during the day and create art at night. Prime Minister Modi fulfilled the dream of the Ram Temple, so I combined both symbols of inspiration into one frame,” he said.
Jan Darshan: Governance with a Human Touch
The Jan Darshan initiative under Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai continues to serve as a bridge between citizens and the state, blending administrative efficiency with emotional intelligence. From helping athletes and artists to supporting children with special needs, the programme exemplifies how governance can be both accountable and compassionate.
Mr. Sai emphasized that such initiatives transform governance from a routine exercise into a genuine human connection. “Jan Darshan is not just about resolving grievances—it’s about understanding people, their struggles, and their dreams,” he stated.
