A wave of pride, culture, and innovation swept across Madhya Pradesh as the state celebrated its 70th Foundation Day with grandeur at Lal Parade Ground, Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, while addressing the cultural event “Avatar,” said that several development projects once deemed impossible have been successfully completed in the past two years, marking a new chapter in the state’s growth story.

Dr. Yadav emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is setting new benchmarks in development, achieving an impressive 24 percent industrial growth rate, with industries expanding rapidly under stable governance and visionary leadership.
Industrial Expansion and Infrastructure Boom
The Chief Minister announced that three new airports have been inaugurated in Datia, Satna, and Rewa, while an MoU for upgrading Ujjain’s airstrip into a full-fledged airport was signed on Foundation Day.
He highlighted that three inter-state irrigation projects — the Ken-Betwa, Parvati Kali Sindh Chambal, and Tapti Mega Projects — have been approved. These projects will not only boost irrigation but also ensure adequate water supply for households and industries.
Dr. Yadav shared that Madhya Pradesh’s budget will double in the next five years, driven by continued focus on infrastructure, agriculture, and tourism.
Wildlife and Eco-Tourism: A Greener Future for Madhya Pradesh
In a major environmental initiative, Madhya Pradesh’s 27th wildlife sanctuary is being established in Omkareshwar, spanning Khandwa and Dewas districts. The state already houses nine tiger reserves and major national parks such as Bhopal Van Vihar and Madhav National Park in Shivpuri.
Dr. Yadav said, “Madhya Pradesh is not only advancing industrially but also safeguarding its biodiversity, ensuring that development and conservation go hand in hand.”
Cultural Renaissance: From Ujjain to Chitrakoot
The Chief Minister noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, the state has balanced development with heritage preservation. Over seven crore pilgrims and tourists visited Ujjain recently, reinforcing its spiritual and cultural magnetism.
In Chitrakoot, multiple development works worth over Rs. 28 crore are underway to strengthen religious tourism and infrastructure. “Lord Shri Ram is smiling upon our state as our holy sites flourish with renewed energy and devotion,” Dr. Yadav said.
Tourism Milestone: PM Shri Helicopter Service Launched
In a first for the nation, Madhya Pradesh has launched the PM Shri Tourism Helicopter Service, enhancing accessibility to major pilgrimage and tourism destinations. The initiative aims to revolutionize tourism connectivity and air mobility, further promoting the state’s cultural and natural heritage.
Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh: A Vision for 2047
During the celebrations, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Mr. Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi said that under Dr. Yadav’s leadership, a roadmap for ‘Developed Madhya Pradesh 2047’ has been charted to align with the national vision of a developed India by 2047.
He remarked, “Madhya Pradesh is not just a geographical heartland; it is the cultural heartbeat of India. Through our initiative ‘Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh,’ we aim to showcase the state’s journey from heritage to modern prosperity.”
Celebrating Heritage with Innovation: Drone Show and Musical Spectacle
The highlight of the celebration was a 2,000-drone light show, organized by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, which painted the sky with images of Mahakal Temple, Simhastha, and other symbols of progress and spirituality. It represented the state’s journey “from heritage to horizon.”
This was followed by a grand musical performance, “Vishwavand Srikrishna’s Musical Journey,” — a divine confluence of music, dance, and spirituality. The event featured 350 singers and 150 classical dancers, performing in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Mohiniyattam styles, under the musical direction of Mr. Umesh Tarkaswar and choreography by Ms. Shweta Devendra, Ms. Kshama Malviya, and Ms. Kavita Bhaji.
Star Power: Mr. Jubin Nautiyal Mesmerizes Bhopal
Renowned playback singer Mr. Jubin Nautiyal enthralled the audience with his soulful performance, as thousands of fans cheered and sang along. His mesmerizing voice added a modern and youthful touch to the traditional celebrations, creating a perfect blend of devotion and entertainment.
A Festival of Pride, Progress, and People’s Participation
The three-day celebration featured cultural performances, exhibitions, and short films on Madhya Pradesh’s achievements in industry, tourism, and innovation. Senior leaders, including Mr. Hemant Khastewal, Ms. Krishna Gaur, Mr. Chaitanya Kumar Kashyap, and Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain, attended the event.
As fireworks illuminated the night sky, the spirit of Madhya Pradesh — a fusion of heritage and modernity — shone brightly. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated citizens, saying, “Our Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead with confidence, carrying its glorious past into a brighter future.”
