The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has commenced Good Governance Week 2025, themed ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’.
Releasing the guidelines for the nationwide campaign in New Delhi, DARPG Secretary Rachna Shah underlined that good governance must be assessed through the lens of effective service delivery at the grassroots. She emphasised that governance is not defined merely by policies or institutional frameworks, but by how efficiently public services reach citizens and how promptly and sensitively their grievances are resolved.
The campaign is being implemented in two phases. During the preparatory phase, held from December 11 to December 18, more than 2.11 lakh public grievances were resolved across the country.
In the implementation phase, district collectors nationwide will organise special camps at the tehsil, block and panchayat levels, facilitating direct interaction between citizens and officials. These camps aim to ensure on-the-spot grievance redressal and improved access to public services.
The nationwide Good Governance Week campaign will continue until December 25, reinforcing the government’s commitment to citizen-centric and responsive administration.
