RAS Mains 2024: Admit Cards Released Amid Ongoing Protests, Students Disheartened by No Postponement – Details Inside

No Relief for RAS Aspirants: Exam to Be Held as Scheduled Despite Protests
Indian Masterminds Stories

Jaipur/Ajmer: Despite relentless protests and hunger strikes by aspirants outside Rajasthan University, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on June 14 officially released the admit cards for the RAS Mains Exam 2024, confirming the examination will proceed as scheduled on June 17 and 18. The move has sparked widespread disappointment among candidates who had been demanding a postponement of the exam until September.

The admit cards can be downloaded via the RPSC official website (rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in) or the Rajasthan SSO portal (sso.rajasthan.gov.in) by logging in with relevant credentials. The commission has made it clear that entry to exam centers will be strictly allowed only with a valid admit card.

Why Are Students Protesting?
For days, a significant number of candidates have been staging protests at Rajasthan University, with some even resorting to hunger strikes, which led to health complications and hospitalizations. Their core demands include:

  • Postponement of the exam by at least three months.
  • Delay in RAS 2023 results, which is causing confusion as interviews are still underway.
  • Limited preparation time due to the late announcement of the preliminary results and a relatively early main exam date.
  • Concerns over seat duplication, where the same candidates may be selected in both the 2023 and 2024 recruitment cycles.

Support for the students has also come from various quarters, including MLAs and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who urged the government to heed the legitimate concerns of the youth.

Government and RPSC Remain Firm
Despite mounting pressure, the state government and RPSC have held their ground. The release of the admit cards indicates that the exam process will not be deferred. While some students claimed to have received verbal assurances from political figures, no official statement was issued to confirm any reconsideration of the exam schedule.

Meanwhile, the university administration responded by increasing security presence on campus and issuing vacate notices to the protestors – yet students remained steadfast.

What Should Candidates Do Now?
With only a day remaining, the likelihood of postponement appears almost zero. In this situation, experts and educators suggest that candidates shift their focus entirely toward exam preparation. Here’s how they can make the most of the limited time:

  • Prioritize Revision: Focus on high-weightage topics and previous years’ papers.
  • Short Notes: Create concise, bullet-point revision material for quick reference.
  • Manage Stress: Use meditation or brief exercise to reduce anxiety and maintain mental clarity.
  • Follow Exam Guidelines: Carefully review instructions on the admit card and plan for timely arrival at the exam center.

Long-Term Suggestions for RPSC
The recurring dissatisfaction among aspirants indicates a need for better planning, communication, and transparency from RPSC and the state government. A clearly defined calendar for examinations and result declarations would help avoid overlapping recruitment cycles and reduce candidate stress in the future.
