Raisen Unnat Krishi Mahotsav 2026 Showcases “Seed to Market” Farming Model to Boost Farmer Income in Madhya Pradesh

At major agri-event attended by Mohan Yadav, leaders highlight modern farming, ₹2625/quintal wheat MSP, e-Forms app launch, and plans to make MP a horticulture hub

Raisen (Madhya Pradesh): A large-scale push toward modern agriculture and farmer empowerment was seen at the “Unnat Krishi Mahotsav 2026” held at Dussehra Maidan in Raisen, where farmers were introduced to a complete “seed-to-market” ecosystem. The three-day event, which began on April 11, will continue till April 13 and has drawn participation from around 4,000 farmers.

The event was attended by several top leaders, including Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

“Seed to Market” Model Showcased for Farmers

Farmers were provided detailed exposure to modern farming practices including:

  • High-quality seeds and fertilizers
  • Horticulture and irrigation management
  • Agricultural machinery demonstrations
  • Banking and credit support solutions
  • Market linkage awareness

A major highlight was the launch of the “e-Forms App”, designed to provide farmers with real-time agricultural and market-related information.

Focus on Technology-Driven Agriculture

Officials and experts showcased advanced farming tools and techniques aimed at increasing productivity and reducing costs. Multiple stalls were set up to educate farmers on different aspects of agriculture, from soil health to post-harvest management.

The initiative aims to ensure farmers get direct access to knowledge, technology, and markets without intermediaries.

CM Highlights India’s Growing Global Agri Status

Addressing the gathering, CM Mohan Yadav said that India is gaining global recognition under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized that the country is now exporting twice the amount of food grains compared to earlier years.

He also noted that Raisen district alone exports basmati rice to 47 countries, showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s growing agricultural strength.

₹2625 Per Quintal Wheat Procurement with Bonus

The Chief Minister announced that wheat is being procured at ₹2625 per quintal this year, including a ₹40 bonus. He said irrigation facilities in the state have expanded significantly, and farmers are now receiving daytime electricity for irrigation.

He added that the state government has declared 2026 as “Kisan Kalyan Varsh” (Farmers’ Welfare Year).

Rajnath Singh Praises Agricultural Transformation

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the agricultural fair will prove beneficial in transforming farmers’ lives by providing direct access to government schemes and market systems free from middlemen.

He highlighted that farmers are the backbone of India’s economy and said initiatives like soil health cards and increased MSP have strengthened the sector.

He also encouraged youth participation in agri-startups to modernize farming and reduce dependency on intermediaries.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Horticulture and Agri-Roadmap

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is being developed as a horticulture hub. He said India is preparing detailed agricultural roadmaps for states and promoting integrated farming models.

He also announced plans to set up 55 pulse mills in Madhya Pradesh and strengthen MSP procurement for pulses.

New App and Digital Push for Farmers

A new digital platform was launched to provide farmers with access to:

  • Soil health information
  • Crop planning guidance
  • Market price updates

The initiative aims to bring transparency and efficiency in agriculture through technology.

Toward a Modern, Profitable Farming Ecosystem

The Unnat Krishi Mahotsav 2026 highlighted India’s shift toward technology-driven, market-linked agriculture. Leaders emphasized increasing farmer income, boosting exports, and strengthening rural livelihoods through innovation and policy support.
