On Monday, Mr. Atul Karwal took charge as the New Director General (DG) of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). He will also hold the Additional Charge of Director, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel National Police Academy (NPA), Hyderabad till the government appoints him as the full-time chief. He replaced the incumbent IPS officer, Mr. S N Pradhan.
Mr. Karwal is a 1988 batch senior IPS officer from the Gujarat cadre.
