A major reshuffle took place in the Thiruvananthapuram police force as an order was issued on transfers as well as additional duty to several IPS officers.
VIP security deputy commissioner G. Jaidev was given the additional charge of the Special Armed Police Battalion. Merin Joseph, who was the Kollam city police commissioner, has been appointed as Thiruvananthapuram crime branch police superintendent. Instead, Ernakulam rural district police chief Vivek Kumar will take over as the Kollam city commissioner. Kiran Narayan, who was principal of the police training college, will be the new Thiruvananthapuram rural police chief.
