The government of Jammu & Kashmir (UT) mandated several transfers across its police departments. Following an order by the Principal Secretary to the J&K Government, Mr. Javid Iqbal Matoo (2010 batch IPS officer), the incumbent Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Crime, was asked to assume charge as the DIG of South Kashmir, while Mr. Altaf Khan (2010 batch IPS officer) became the new DIG IR Kashmir, replacing IPS Abdul Qaoom (2001 batch).
Apart from these, Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad (JKPS officer), presently Additional Superintendent of Police (Police) Pulwama, was transferred and posted as Dy CO IR-24 Battalion against an available vacancy. While Mr. Shafat Mohammad Najar (JKPS officer) replaced Officer Ahmad as the Additional SP Pulwama.
