Mumbai: Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has donated a 30-seater bus equipped with a hydraulic lift to the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), Composite Regional Centre, Davangere, Karnataka, under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, MGL Saksham. The facility is expected to benefit around 250 persons with disabilities every day by improving access to essential rehabilitation, education and skill development services.
The specially designed bus was inaugurated on October 15, 2026, by Sanket Dhotre, Vice President – HR & CSR, Mahanagar Gas Limited. Equipped with a hydraulic lift, the vehicle is intended to make boarding easier and safer for wheelchair users and individuals with mobility challenges.
MGL Donates Accessible Bus to Support Persons with Disabilities
The 30-seater bus is designed to address transportation challenges faced by persons with disabilities, particularly those who use wheelchairs or require assistance with mobility.
The hydraulic lift will enable passengers to board the vehicle more conveniently and safely, helping improve accessibility during daily travel to and from the institute.
The initiative is expected to benefit approximately 250 people daily, providing them and their families with a more comfortable and convenient way to access essential services.

Bus to Improve Access to Rehabilitation and Special Education
The accessible transport facility will support individuals and their families in reaching a range of services offered by NIEPID’s Composite Regional Centre in Davangere.
