Meghalaya: North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) has signed a Deed of Agreement to construct a new sports facility at Dadenggre in West Garo Hills District, Tura, Meghalaya, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for FY 2026-27.
The agreement, signed on September 30, 2026, will support the development of grassroots sports infrastructure and provide local youth with better facilities for year-round sporting activities.
NEEPCO Signs Deed of Agreement for Sports Facility
The Deed of Agreement was signed by Vibhor Aggarwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills District, with officials from NEEPCO.
Saurabh Suman, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, West Garo Hills District, was also present during the signing ceremony.
The project is part of NEEPCO’s broader CSR programme for FY 2026-27 and focuses on strengthening sports infrastructure in the Garo Hills region.

New Badminton Court and All-Weather Canopy to Be Built
The proposed Sports Facility Centre at Dadenggre will include key infrastructure for badminton and other sporting activities.
The project includes:
- Construction of a new Badminton Court
- Construction of a dedicated all-weather canopy
The canopy is intended to enable sporting activities throughout the year and provide protection from weather conditions.
NEEPCO Focuses on Grassroots Sports and Youth Development
Through the initiative, NEEPCO aims to provide local athletes and young people with improved access to sports infrastructure.
The project is expected to support:
