Panaji, Goa: NTPC Limited’s Western Region-I Headquarters, Mumbai, has taken a significant step towards improving healthcare services in Goa by handing over 19 healthcare vehicles to the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Goa under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, improve emergency medical response, enhance patient transportation services, and ensure efficient medicine distribution across the state.
The vehicles were handed over on July 14, 2026, in the presence of senior government officials, NTPC representatives, and healthcare authorities.
NTPC Hands Over Advanced Healthcare Fleet to Goa
The healthcare fleet provided by NTPC includes a mix of emergency and support vehicles designed to improve medical services across the state.
The fleet consists of:
- 6 Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulances
- 8 Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances
- 2 Cardiac Ambulances
- 3 Medicine Transportation Vans
These vehicles will help strengthen emergency response systems and provide better healthcare accessibility to people across Goa.

Senior Officials Attend Healthcare Vehicle Handover Ceremony
The handover ceremony was attended by:
- Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, Government of India.
- Vishwajit Rane, Minister for Health, Government of Goa.
- Ms. Vandana Chaturvedi, Regional Head (HR), NTPC Western Region-I.
- Dr. Jai Prakash Tiwari, Dean, Goa Medical College.
- Dr. Rupa Naik, Director of Health Services, Government of Goa.
- Senior officials from the Department of Health and Goa CSR Authority.
The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between government agencies and public sector organisations in improving healthcare facilities.
Leaders Appreciate NTPC’s CSR Support for Healthcare Sector
Speaking at the event, Shripad Yesso Naik appreciated NTPC’s contribution towards nation-building through its CSR initiatives.
He said that strengthening healthcare infrastructure is essential for providing better medical services to citizens and thanked NTPC for supporting Goa’s healthcare sector.
Vishwajit Rane highlighted that Goa, being a major tourist destination, requires a strong healthcare system capable of serving both residents and visitors.
He appreciated NTPC Western Region-I’s support in strengthening emergency medical services and expressed confidence that the new healthcare vehicles would improve healthcare delivery in the state.

Ms. Vandana Chaturvedi, Regional Head (HR), NTPC Western Region-I, said that NTPC remains committed to improving the quality of life of communities through its CSR initiatives.
She stated that healthcare is one of the key focus areas of NTPC’s CSR programmes, along with education and sustainable livelihood development.
She further reaffirmed NTPC’s commitment to supporting projects that create meaningful and long-term social impact.
New Healthcare Vehicles to Improve Medical Services in Goa
The addition of these 19 vehicles is expected to provide several benefits, including:
- Faster emergency medical response.
- Improved patient transportation facilities.
- Better availability of critical care ambulances.
- Efficient medicine supply management across healthcare centres.
The initiative will contribute to creating a more accessible and efficient healthcare system for the people of Goa.
