REC Limited Empowers Women in West Bengal with 600 Sewing Machines Under CSR Initiative

Kolkata: REC Limited has launched a women empowerment initiative in Bangaon, West Bengal, aimed at promoting self-employment and financial independence. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the company will distribute 600 foot-operated sewing machines to women beneficiaries, enabling them to start sustainable livelihood activities.

The initiative focuses on strengthening economic independence, encouraging entrepreneurship, and improving the overall quality of life for women in the region.

600 Sewing Machines to Promote Self-Employment

As part of the programme, 600 foot-operated sewing machines will be provided to eligible women in Bangaon. These machines are expected to help beneficiaries engage in home-based tailoring and stitching work.

The initiative will support women in:

  • Starting small tailoring businesses
  • Developing home-based income sources
  • Enhancing skill-based employment opportunities
  • Achieving long-term financial stability
