Saying it With a Rose

Celebrating the spirit of Valentine’s day, IAS officer Ranjit Kumar Singh expressed his love for his wife at a public park and sang songs of love with his better half.

14 th February, Valentine’s Day, is the day of expressing your love to your significant other and a day of romantic gestures. The young and old from all corners of the world celebrate this day of love by doing small or elaborate acts for their partners or giving them tokens of love.

Everyone celebrates in their own way, and so did this Indian Administrative Service Officer, posted in Bihar. 2008-batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Singh, on deputation in Bihar now, was the talk of Patna on Sunday following his decision to celebrate Valentine’s Day with his wife at a public park.

OFFERING ROSE TO HIS BELOVED

Currently posted as the Director of Primary Education Department, Mr. Singh is a native of Bihar’s Vaishali district and had a love-cum-arranged marriage in December 2020 with Misa Singh, who is also a state administrative officer.

On the occasion of Valentine’s Day on Sunday, Mr. Singh reached a public park and offered a rose to his valentine- in the presence of media and many on-lookers. Needless to say, the gesture won many hearts and the photographs of the even became viral on social media.

Mr. Singh, along with his wife, exclaimed “Where there is love, there is life but where there is career established there is life with happiness. Therefore, we have come here as a couple of settled careers to give a message to youth. Celebrate Valentine’s Day along with career achievements.”

ROMANCE WINS HEARTS

Furthermore, he went on to share how he and his ‘valentine’ (wife) continue to be in love with each other despite their professional responsibilities. “Falling in love with your career makes one encouraged and confident,” he said before singing a few romantic numbers along with his wife at the park.

Mr. Singh holds the credit for making Narmada Gujarat’s first Open Defecation Free (ODF) district, and also declared Sitamarhi as Bihar’s first ODF district during his tenure as district magistrate. It was at Sitamarhi that Dr. Singh fell in love with a probationer officer of state administrative services and later tied the knot with her. CM Nitish Kumar among other officials attended the couple’s wedding.
