The amount of dedication and effort that IPS officer Robin Hibu has put in for the cause of North-Eastern residents is legendary. He is their go-to person for all their needs. At present posted as a special commissioner in Delhi Police, the officer is known to take care of his people like a guardian angel through his NGO – Helping Hands.
His demeanor has attracted the eyes of many; including renowned Hindi writer Ms. Renu Saini’s who is all set to write a biography on the officer. In an exclusive conversation with Indian Masterminds, Ms. Saini spoke of her experience with Mr. Hibu.
BIOGRAPHY ON HIS LIFE AND WORK
The very first IPS of Arunachal Pradesh, Mr. Hibu is a generous and kind man who stands with his people through thick and thin. The 1993 batch AGMUT cadre officer faced heavy racism and criticism back in his days. But like a phoenix, he rose from the ashes of negative vibes to become a topmost bureaucrat in the country. Now he is doing his best to stub out the evil practice of racism directed towards people hailing from the North East.
Author Renu Saini met Mr. Hibu on July 12, 2021, with regard to a book she was planning to write on NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadets, who took part in it while in school or college and have now made a prominent identity in the country.
“Sir told me about his life in NCC and the kind of struggle that he has faced from childhood. I realized that the officer has literally risen up in his life. From nowhere, he has now reached such a pinnacle of success. Even after facing so many backlashes, he is full of positivity. When most people give up on difficulties and challenges, Robin sir knows how to bend adversity and turn them in his favor,” she told Indian Masterminds.
“Today one of the top Hindi writers and poet of India, Renu Saini came for call and asked my permission to write my Biography in Hindi for the inspiration of youth in India specially for Hindi speaking people,” stated the IPS officer himself.
IDEA FOR THE BOOK
According to Ms. Saini, the idea to write a book on the officer occurred to her after she returned from her meeting with Mr. Hibu. She became convinced that Mr. Hibu’s entire life could easily be an inspiration to every citizen in the country.
“Sir belongs to North-Eastern region. Even today, North Easterns are perceived to be different from the mainstream citizens of the country. By coming to Delhi and acquiring an important post in the most efficient police department of the nation, sir has proved that an Indian can emerge victorious from every situation that they are put into,” stated Ms. Saini.
CONTENT OF THE BOOK
Talking about the aspects that will be cover in the book, Ms. Saini told Indian Masterminds that she would cover his life from the beginning, including his struggles and how he achieved the position that he was in today.
“In this book, I will cover Sir’s life from his childhood till now. His childhood struggles as well as experiences while becoming an IPS and all problems he had to face because of being a North Eastern resident. I will also take into account what actions he is taking to resolve these problems and how he convinces people to treat everyone as equal,” she explained.
MR. ROBIN HIBU – AN INSPIRATION
Mr. Hibu has inspired numerous people all over the world, including Author Renu Saini. Talking about what quality of Mr. Hibu inspired her most, she says, “Robin Hibu sir is a hardworking, helpful, intelligent and down to earth person. His personality has the power to attract anyone in the very first meeting. If all Indians adopt his philosophy, there would be no fights for religion, caste, and race anywhere in our country. He gives the message of unity in diversity and is a very positive person.”
The author is working on the book which will be written in Hindi with the title ‘Ek Gandhiwadi Police Wala – Unsuni Kahani – Robin Hibu IPS’. She wants the book to be published within the next six months or one year.

Mr. Hibu is extremely happy to know about the biography and says, “It’s so hearting touching for me that my small endeavors in serving the country as IPS and as Gandhian social worker for the less privileged vulnerable section of society, through NGO Helping Hands, has impressed the public so much. I hope this Biography in Hindi will inspire new generations to practice Gandhian thoughts for the overall development of our society.”
Ms. Saini has written a number of successful books on different subjects. Her flawless and attractive skills with the language are the reason that she is one of the top Hindi writers of India.
