She Shunned Social Media To Clear UPSC CSE, Now Shares Prelims Tips

Clearing the UPSC is not everyone’s cup of tea. Every aspirant has their own method of studying and preparing for India’s most difficult and prestigious examination. While many of them use social media as a stress reliever, others avoid it in order to concentrate and focus better. IAS officer Pari Bishnoi lived like a monk in order to pass the UPSC exam.

Ms. Bishnoi is a 2020 batch IAS officer and is currently posted as SDM, Gangtok.

BACKGROUND

Born and brought up in Rajasthan’s Kakra village in Bikaner district, Ms. Bishnoi attended St. Mary’s Convent School in Ajmer. Her mother Sushila Bishnoi is reportedly a GRP police officer. Her father Maniram Bishnoi is a practising attorney.

Soon after passing class 12, Ms. Bishnoi landed in Delhi to finish her higher studies. She is a Delhi University graduate and completed her Masters in political science from MDS University in Ajmer. She also passed the NET-JRF test.

UPSC

It took Ms. Bishnoi a total of three attempts to clear UPSC CSE. She cleared the exam in 2019 with All India Rank 30 and achieved her dream.

Her mother stated in an interview that her daughter, Pari Bishnoi stopped using social media while studying for the UPSC CSE exam. She even kept her mobile phone aside all through her journey to fulfil her dream of becoming an IAS officer.

PARI’S TIPS FOR PRELIMS

With the 2023 UPSC Prelims just around the corner, Pari Bishnoi shared some tips:

  • Solve previous year’s question papers and mock exams to gauge your shortcomings and skills
  • Review last 10 year’s prelims papers to establish the trend and types of questions
  • Reading newspapers and publications should be a significant part of your preparation
  • Study various NCERTs for each topic
  • Examine the Syllabus thoroughly. You’ll learn something new every time you read it
  • Don’t forget about CSAT. Try a range of reasoning and math questions to enhance your problem-solving abilities and speed
  • Make thorough notes on each topic to help you revise
  • Take a range of practice exams to assess your abilities and weaknesses

YOUTUBE CHANNEL

Ms. Bishnoi also runs a YouTube Channel for the aspirants preparing for UPSC CSE. The motto of her channel is to guide and inform students about various career choices, examination processes through experiences and wisdom of selected officers. She shares tips about covering general knowledge, mistakes to avoid before UPSC prelims, how to deal with nervousness during examination, interview strategies and much more.

The officer has 26.2K subscribers and has uploaded 10 informational videos till now.
