1987-batch IPS officer from Rajasthan cadre, Mr. Mohan Lal Lather has been appointed as the Director-General of Police in Rajasthan according to an order issued late on Tuesday night.
He took the charge on 4 November after relieving from the post of DG (Crime Branch), Rajasthan. In mid-October, he was also assigned with an additional charge of DG, Jaipur.
Mr. Lather has his origins from Haryana and he has been a recipient of three prestigious awards for his excellent service. He was awarded the President Police Medal in 2016, the Police Medal in 2003, and President Police Medal for Gallantry in 1997.
He will hold the charge of DGP Rajasthan for a fixed period of two years or till the date of his retirement whichever is earlier.
