105 Bihar Administrative Service Officers Reshuffled Ahead of Polls, Subodh Chaudhary, Made Special Secy, Education Dept- Details Inside

In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Bihar government has issued fresh postings for 105 officers of the Bihar Administrative Service, including 59 officers who were awaiting assignments. The General Administration and Home Departments released a comprehensive notification detailing the new roles across various departments and districts. The reshuffle also includes the posting of 19 new Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and transfer of 18 DSP-level police officers.

Key Appointments in Education and Revenue Departments

Mr. Subodh Chaudhary, formerly Director (Administration) in the Education Department, has now been appointed as Special Secretary in the same department.

Mr. Subodh Kumar, known for his advisory role to the Chief Minister, has been posted as Settlement Officer in Purnea.

Mr. Prabhat Kumar, who previously served as Settlement Officer in Arwal, has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Saharsa.

Several officers were assigned responsibilities related to public grievance redressal, revenue, education, and panchayati raj departments.

Postings in the State Secretariat and Divisions

Mr. Umesh Kumar Bharti has been named Deputy Secretary of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission, while Mr. Akhilesh Kumar becomes Secretary in the Labour Resources Department.

Ms. Anisha Singh and Ms. Priyanka Kumari have been posted as Deputy Secretaries in the Bihar Public Service Commission and Social Welfare Department, respectively.

Other key appointments include:

  • Mr. Vinod Kumar Singh as Secretary to the Commissioner, Bhagalpur Division
  • Mr. Sudhir Kumar as Secretary to the Commissioner, Munger Division
  • Mr. Sandeep Shekhar Priyadarshi as Secretary to the Commissioner, Tirhut Division
  • Mr. Awadhesh Kumar Anand as Secretary, Purnia Division

Reassignments in Urban and Rural Development

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh has been appointed Additional District Magistrate (Urban) in Patna, and Mr. Rohit Kumar is now Additional Collector (Public Grievance Redressal Officer) in Gopalganj.

Mr. Gyan Prakash takes over as Deputy Secretary in the Information and Public Relations Department.

Ms. Aishwarya Kashyap has been posted in Munger, while Ms. Pammi Rani becomes District Panchayat Raj Officer in Lakhisarai.

Mr. Manohar Kumar Sahu has been appointed District Panchayat Raj Officer, Nalanda.

New SDMs, OSDs, and Settlement Officers

Several officers have been named Senior Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and Officers on Special Duty (OSDs). Notably:

  • Mr. Aniket Kumar (Nalanda), Ms. Kumari Tosi (Saharsa), and Mr. Manish Kumar (Patna) will serve as Senior SDMs.
  • Mr. Subodh Kumar has been appointed Settlement Officer, Purnea.
  • Mr. Chandra Shekhar Azad and Mr. Neeraj Kumar Das have been posted as Settlement Officers in Madhubani and Bhojpur, respectively.

Land Reforms and Revenue Postings

A large number of Deputy Collectors of Land Reforms (DCLRs) have been appointed in various districts, including:

  • Ms. Swati Kumari (Phulparas, Madhubani)
  • Mr. Sanjeev Kumar (Supaul Sadar)
  • Ms. Preeti Kumari (Purnia Sadar)
  • Mr. Mankeshwar Kumar (Teghra, Begusarai)
  • Mr. Dheeraj Kumar (Saharsa Sadar)
  • Mr. Shivkumar Pandit as Director, Accounts Administration and Self-Planning, Chhapra

Appointments in Other Departments

Mr. Ramendra Kumar has been made General Manager (Procurement) at Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation.

Mr. Mahmood Alam has taken charge as Joint Secretary, Art, Culture and Youth Department, while Mr. Mumtaz Alam has been appointed Managing Director of Bihar State Minorities Finance Corporation.

The reshuffle reflects the state government’s intent to strengthen governance and public service delivery across administrative and police departments, streamlining operations in both urban and rural areas.
