74 IPS Officers Promoted in UP, 25 Elevated as DIG, Others as ADG and SSP

20 IPS officers are set to be promoted from ASP to Superintendent of Police (SP), and 25 officers from the 2011 batch of SSP rank will be promoted to DIG.

In a significant move that will reshape the leadership landscape of Uttar Pradesh Police, 74 IPS officers have been granted promotions to higher ranks, including several to the coveted positions of SSP, IG, and ADG. The promotion order, which takes effect in the new year, includes a range of officers across various districts and special units.

Among the 74 officers, three senior IPS officers of 2000 batch, currently holding the rank of Inspector General (IG) will be promoted to the prestigious Additional Director General (ADG) rank. These officers include Lakshmi Singh, the Noida Police Commissioner, Prashant Kumar, IG of the Lucknow Range, and Neelabhja Chaudhary, IG of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).

In addition, Dipesh Juneja, currently serving as an ASP (Assistant Superintendent of Police), is one of the officers set to be promoted to ADG, a leap from the ASP rank to one of the highest positions in the state police force.

The reshuffle also includes promotions for six district police captains who will be elevated to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG). Furthermore, 20 IPS officers are set to be promoted from ASP to Superintendent of Police (SP), and 25 officers from the 2011 batch of SSP rank will be promoted to DIG.

Additionally, 10 officers currently holding the DIG rank will be promoted to IG, and 15 officers will transition from SP to SSP.

  • Abhishek Singh, Muzaffarnagar SSP
  • Rajesh S, Shahjahanpur SSP
  • Ajay Pal Sharma, Jaunpur SSP
  • Alok Priyadarshi, Fatehpur SSP
  • Rambadan Singh, Gautam Buddha Nagar DCP
  • Hrdesh Kumar, Varanasi DCP
  • Suryakant Tripathi, DCP
  • Tej Swaroop, DCP Lucknow
  • Three IGs Promoted to ADG:
  • Lakshmi Singh, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissioner
  • Prashant Kumar, Lucknow Range IG
  • Neelabhja Chaudhary, ATS IG
  • Officers Promoted to IG

The following DIG officers will be elevated to the rank of IG-

24 PPS Officers Promoted to IPS

In addition to the promotions of serving IPS officers, the state government earlier announced that 24 PPS (Provincial Police Service) officers were promoted to the IPS (Indian Police Service) during Diwali.
