Chandigarh: In a late-night development, the Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government has transferred eight IAS officers, marking a significant administrative reshuffle across six districts. These transfers come after a long-awaited move, following the shifting of 21 IPS officers earlier.
The changes include the appointment of new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in several districts.
2014 batch IAS officer Komal Mittal has been appointed as the new DC of Mohali, swapping positions with 2015 batch IAS officer Aashika Jain, who will now take over as DC of Hoshiarpur.
In Faridkot, 2013 batch IAS officer Poonamdeep Kaur steps into the role of DC, while 2018 batch IAS officer T Benith has been designated the new DC of Barnala.
2018 batch IAS officer Ankurjeet Singh will serve as the DC of Nawanshahr, and Viraj Shyamkarn Tidke, also an IAS officer of 2018 batch, has been assigned the role of DC in Malerkotla.
Additionally, 2012 batch IAS officer Vineet Kumar, who was previously serving as the DC of Faridkot, has been transferred and appointed as the Managing Director of the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation.
2016 batch IAS officer Parminder Pal Singh has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Mohali Municipal Corporation.
These changes come as part of the ongoing restructuring efforts by the state government to ensure efficient governance and administration across the regions.
