A. Robert J. Ravi Gets 3-Month Extension as MTNL CMD With Additional Charge – Know More!

New Delhi: A. Robert J. Ravi, a senior Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer and current Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has been given a three-month extension as the CMD of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL). The extension is effective from July 15, 2025, to October 14, 2025, or until further notice.

The extension comes as part of a decision made by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) under the Ministry of Communications, allowing him to continue holding the additional charge of the CMD post at MTNL.

No Additional Remuneration During Extended Tenure

During the period of his extended charge at MTNL, Ravi will not be entitled to any additional remuneration, continuing his leadership responsibilities without any extra financial compensation. This move reflects the government’s approach to streamlined leadership in public sector undertakings, especially in key telecom institutions.

 A. Robert Jerard Ravi is a seasoned officer of the Department of Telecommunications. He is a Gold Medalist in Engineering from Pondicherry University and holds an MBA in International Business. With a strong academic background and proven leadership in public telecom enterprises, Ravi has played a pivotal role in navigating challenges in India’s telecom sector.

As CMD of BSNL, Ravi has been involved in strategic initiatives to modernize operations, enhance service delivery, and steer the organization toward financial and operational stability. His additional charge at MTNL is seen as a continuation of efforts to align both state-owned telecom companies under effective and experienced leadership
