New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has extended the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) for both Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) to Mr Ravi A. Robert J. Ravi, Deputy Director General (DDG), DoT. The extension is valid for a period of three months, from July 15 to October 14, 2025, or until a regular appointee assumes charge, whichever is earlier.

This extension has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and communicated officially via DoPT ACC communication No. 24/01/2019-EO(ACC).

No Additional Remuneration During Extended Tenure

As per the official order, Ravi A. Robert J. Ravi will not receive any additional remuneration for holding these concurrent positions. The continuation of his responsibilities is aimed at ensuring administrative continuity in both BSNL and MTNL, two key state-owned telecom service providers that are undergoing operational and financial restructuring.
