New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved several additional charge assignments for senior central government officers in key departments, effective immediately. These arrangements have been made during periods of leave or pending regular appointments.

Additional Charge Appointments

Nivedita Shukla Verma (IAS: 1991: UP)

  • Current Post: Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals
  • Additional Charge: Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare
  • Duration: Till 21 December 2025, during the leave of Punya Salila Srivastava (IAS: 1993: AGMUT)

Amit Agrawal (IAS: 1993: CG)

  • Current Post: Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals
  • Additional Charge: Secretary, Department of Telecommunications
  • Duration: 16 December 2025 to 21 December 2025, during the leave of Neeraj Mittal (IAS: 1992: TN)

Priya Ranjan (IFS: 1998: RJ)

  • Current Post: Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare
  • Additional Charge: Managing Director, National Horticulture Board (NHB)
  • Extended Duration: 23 September 2025 to 22 June 2026, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, whichever is earlier

Priya Ranjan has been holding this additional charge since May 2023, with multiple extensions

Granting additional charges ensures continuity in administration and decision-making in crucial government departments.

  • Amit Agrawal will manage Telecommunications policy and regulation in addition to Pharmaceuticals
  • Priya Ranjan will continue to steer the National Horticulture Board, ensuring stability and continuity in agricultural initiatives

These appointments reflect the government’s confidence in these officers’ administrative capabilities and leadership experience.
