New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved multiple senior-level appointments and tenure extensions across key central ministries, including Agriculture, Economic Affairs, and Commerce.
The decisions include additional charge assignments and extension of central deputation tenure for senior IAS officers, strengthening administrative leadership in critical departments.
Sagar Hanuman Singh Given Additional Charge at MANAGE Hyderabad
The ACC has approved the proposal of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to entrust additional charge of the post of Director General (Joint Secretary level), National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad to Mr. Sagar Hanuman Singh.
He is currently serving as Director General of the National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM).
According to the order, the additional charge will be effective from October 6, 2025 to March 29, 2026, or until the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders — whichever is earlier.
The move ensures continuity in leadership at MANAGE, a premier institution focused on agricultural extension, capacity building, and policy support.
Tenure Extension for Baldeo Purushartha in Department of Economic Affairs
In another decision, the ACC approved the proposal of the Department of Economic Affairs for extension of central deputation tenure of Mr. Baldeo Purushartha, IAS (Punjab cadre, 2002 batch).
He is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs.
His tenure has been extended for one year beyond March 11, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The extension is expected to provide continuity in key financial and economic policy matters handled by the department.
Additional Charge for Dnyaneshwar Bhalchandra Patil at Kandla SEZ
The ACC has also approved the proposal of the Department of Commerce to entrust additional charge of the post of Development Commissioner, Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Kandla to Mr. Dnyaneshwar Bhalchandra Patil, IAS (Madhya Pradesh cadre, 2003 batch).
Patil currently serves as Development Commissioner of Santa Cruz Exclusive Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ SEZ), Mumbai.
He will hold the additional charge for a period of nine months from October 28, 2025 to July 27, 2026, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, or until further orders — whichever is earlier.
The appointment is aimed at ensuring smooth functioning and administrative continuity at Kandla SEZ, a major export hub.
Strengthening Administrative Continuity
These decisions reflect the government’s emphasis on maintaining administrative stability and leadership continuity across important economic and agricultural institutions.
By assigning additional responsibilities and extending tenures, the Centre aims to ensure seamless governance and effective implementation of policies in strategic sectors such as agriculture extension, economic affairs, and export promotion.
