The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of the central deputation tenure of IAS officer D. Thara (Gujarat cadre, 1995 batch), who is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on June 13, 2026, Thara’s tenure has been extended up to December 5, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The extension has been granted by continuing the temporary upgradation of the post, enabling her to remain in the position beyond her existing deputation term.
D. Thara is a senior IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre and has been associated with several key assignments in urban development, housing, and governance during her tenure in both the state and central governments.
