Jaipur/New Delhi: The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has entered into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ACME Sikar Solar Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of ACME Solar Holdings, for a 300 MW solar power project in Sikar, Rajasthan. The fixed tariff for power supplied from the plant stands at ₹3.05 per unit.
Incentives and Transmission Benefits
The project qualifies for the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) charges waiver, a key government incentive aimed at promoting early operationalization of renewable energy projects. Since the Scheduled Commercial Operations Date (SCOD) falls before the June 2025 deadline, the project benefits from this waiver, reducing transmission costs and improving overall project viability.
Capacity Addition Strengthens National Solar Footprint
The Sikar project was awarded under SECI’s ISTS Tranche XVIII, and the tariff was finalised by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission in May 2025. With this addition, ACME’s cumulative PPA‑signed capacity has climbed to 5,130 MW. Of this, 2,890 MW is already operational, while 1,840 MW is under construction through existing Letters of Award.
SECI and Central Buyers Dominate Offtake Agreements
.
Around 86% of ACME’s total energy offtake is backed by central government entities, while the remaining 14% comes from state distribution companies. The company continues to prioritize long-term PPAs with central agencies for enhanced revenue security.
Project Commissioned Ahead of Deadline
ACME commissioned the 300 MW project on June 23, 2025, nearly a week before its scheduled supply start date of June 30. This timely execution allows the company to qualify for waiver benefits on Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) charges, further enhancing project viability.
ACME Drives Efficiency with In-House Execution
ACME’s current portfolio spans 6,970 MW across solar, wind, hybrid, and firm dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) assets. The firm manages its own engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&M) verticals to ensure high project execution standards and cost control.
