Gujarat: In a major infrastructure milestone, the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway has been inaugurated, significantly enhancing connectivity between Ahmedabad and the rapidly developing Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). The 109-kilometer access-controlled greenfield expressway (NE-08) was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Gujarat visit, marking a key step in the state’s economic and industrial development.
Faster Travel Across Key Economic Hubs
The new expressway reduces travel time dramatically:
- Ahmedabad to Dholera: from 2 hours to just 45 minutes
- Ahmedabad to Bhavnagar: 1 hour 45 minutes
- Maximum vehicle speed is set at 120 km/h, ensuring fast and safe travel
This will not only benefit daily commuters but also boost logistics and trade efficiency across the region.

- Extends to Adhelai in Bhavnagar district, improving connectivity for surrounding industrial zones
