Delhi: An anti-terrorism conference was held at the Delhi Police Headquarter on Friday to discuss new strategy and measures to tackle extremist acts in the country.
The meeting was attended by the chief officers of different state police forces of around 11 states, the anti-terrorism squad (ATS)and heads of agencies like the Intelligence Bureau, National Investigation Agency, Research & Analysis Wing and Military Intelligence, etc.
The meeting covered issues related to different security strategies, illegal weapon and drug trafficking, the recent operation of busting a terror module and recovery of RDX-based IED, grenades, arms and ammunition. The members of the meeting aimed at smooth exchanging of information between them about any activities by the terror outfits.
The meeting was also held in backdrop of the recent political developments in Afghanistan and its ramifications for the security of India.
Recently, the Delhi police and the Uttar Pradesh police’s anti-terrorism squad arrested six men allegedly involved in serial blasts and targeted killings in the country.
