New Delhi: Anugraha Narayana Das, a senior officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), has assumed charge as the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) with effect from May 1, 2026.
He succeeds Raj Kumar Arora in this key position overseeing the financial framework of India’s defence services.
Over Three Decades of Experience
With more than 30 years of experience in defence financial management and public administration, Das brings deep expertise in:
- Procurement policy
- Budgeting and expenditure monitoring
- Audit and oversight mechanisms
His leadership is expected to further strengthen financial governance within the defence sector.

During his career, Das has served in several महत्वपूर्ण positions across ministries and defence establishments:
- Additional Financial Adviser & Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence
- Principal Integrated Financial Adviser (PIFA), Army Headquarters
- Special Controller General of Defence Accounts at CGDA Headquarters
- Director, Ministry of Water Resources
He has also worked closely with service headquarters and field formations, contributing to policy and operational financial systems.
