New Delhi: A special review-cum-interaction meeting was held at Koyla Bhawan Headquarters to assess the performance of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) and review measures to further strengthen coal production, quality, safety and overall operational efficiency.
The meeting was chaired by BCCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Manoj Kumar Agarwal and attended by senior officials from Coal India and BCCL.

Washery Feed and Washed Coal Production Show Improvement
Agarwal said continuous efforts by BCCL have resulted in an increase in washery feed and washed coal production, along with a significant improvement in coal quality.
He emphasised the need to further strengthen quality control mechanisms and monitoring systems to ensure better quality and timely completion of projects and other critical works.
He also stressed that BCCL will continue to focus on achieving its production targets for 2026-27 while improving its overall operational performance.
Coal India Director Stresses Safety and Uninterrupted Production
Coal India Director (Technical) Achyut Ghatak stressed the need to maintain uninterrupted coal production while keeping safety as the foremost priority.
He called for focused efforts to achieve the targets set for 2026-27 and sustain the improvement achieved in coal quality.
Ghatak also emphasised the need to further increase:
- Washery feed
- Washed coal production
- Overall coal production
- Coal dispatch
With coal demand rising across various sectors, particularly the power sector, he called for leveraging the opportunity to strengthen production, dispatch and profitability.
Officials Share Field-Level Suggestions
Senior officials participating in the meeting shared their suggestions and field-level experiences across different operational areas.
