Bangalore: Public sector engineering giant BEML Limited has secured a significant order from the Ministry of Defence for the supply of engines, valued at approximately Rs 110 crore. The order, disclosed under Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, forms part of the company’s normal course of business operations.
Strengthening Defence Portfolio
The new order is expected to reinforce BEML’s position as a strategic supplier of engines and related equipment for defence platforms. As a key contributor to India’s defence and heavy engineering sectors, BEML plays a crucial role in providing critical products for both defence and industrial applications.
Earlier this month, BEML also secured an order worth Rs 157 crore from M/s Loram Rail Maintenance India Private Limited for the manufacture of Switch Rail Grinding Machines to be supplied to Indian Railways for track maintenance. With the addition of the defence engine order, BEML’s total order inflow for December has reached Rs 581 crore.

Q2FY26 Performance and Order Book
In its Q2FY26 results, BEML reported a consolidated profit of Rs 48.03 crore, marking a 5.8% decline compared to the previous quarter. The company’s consolidated income during the July–September period stood at Rs 846.13 crore.
BEML’s order book currently stands at Rs 16,342 crore, of which it executed orders worth Rs 794 crore in Q2FY26. The company expects to execute orders worth Rs 4,217 crore in the current financial year and Rs 12,125 crore in subsequent years.
Business Verticals and Share Performance
BEML operates across three major business verticals: defence and aerospace, mining and construction, and rail and metro. Despite the strong order inflow, the company’s share price declined 2.30% in Tuesday’s trade and has fallen nearly 16.99% so far this year.
