Indian Masterminds Stories

Mumbai: In a nationwide push for transparency and integrity, NTPC Ltd., India’s largest integrated power utility, has launched a three-month Vigilance Awareness Campaign from August 18 to November 17, 2025. The initiative was inaugurated by Chief Vigilance Officer Rashmita Jha at the SCOPE Complex in New Delhi, with NTPC vigilance officers joining virtually from offices across the country.

Campaign Theme: “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”

Focused on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” the campaign aligns with the Central Vigilance Commission’s key focus areas, including:

  • Timely resolution of complaints and vigilance cases
  • Capacity building through digital learning platforms like iGOT Karmayogi
  • Improved asset management and digital monitoring
  • Wider public and vendor engagement through creative outreach tools

CVO Rashmita Jha emphasized that vigilance is not a siloed responsibility, but a collective culture. She encouraged involving employees, vendors, and citizens through activities such as street plays, quizzes, video contests, jingles, and vendor workshops to spread awareness.

Strengthening NTPC’s Culture of Accountability

Building on the momentum from last year’s successful campaign, NTPC aims to further reinforce a culture of transparency, accountability, and public trust across its operations. The campaign is not only about internal vigilance—it reflects NTPC’s broader commitment to ethical business practices.

Powering India’s Future Responsibly

With an installed capacity of 83 GW and 30.90 GW under development—including 13.3 GW in renewable energy—NTPC powers nearly one-fourth of India’s electricity needs. The company is targeting 60 GW of green energy capacity by 2032, firmly aligning with India’s clean energy goals.

NTPC’s portfolio spans thermal, solar, wind, and hydro power. In addition to generation, the company is investing in futuristic sectors such as:

  • E-mobility
  • Battery and hydro storage solutions
  • Green hydrogen, nuclear, and waste-to-energy
  • Power distribution in Union Territories

Vigilance That Goes Beyond Compliance

With this campaign, NTPC is not just promoting compliance—it’s embedding vigilance into the organization’s DNA. The initiative symbolizes how large public sector enterprises can lead by example in fostering a transparent and accountable governance ecosystem.
