Bengaluru: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced a key senior-level appointment aimed at strengthening its renewable energy portfolio. The company has named Ms. Aruna Gulati as the General Manager and Head of the Solar Business Division (SBD), Bengaluru, effective April 25, 2026.

The move highlights BHEL’s continued push to expand its presence in the fast-growing solar and renewable energy sector.

Leadership Role in Solar Business Division

In her new role, Ms. Gulati will lead BHEL’s Solar Business Division based in Bengaluru. She will report to the Director (Industry Sector & Power) and is expected to play a key role in driving strategy, growth, and innovation in the company’s solar initiatives.

The appointment is seen as part of BHEL’s broader plan to strengthen its position in India’s renewable energy market.

Ms. Aruna Gulati brings with her over three decades of experience within BHEL. She joined the organisation on October 21, 1991, and has steadily grown through various technical and leadership roles.

Her academic background includes:

  • B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
  • M.Tech in Electrical Engineering

With 35 years of service, her elevation reflects the company’s confidence in her deep technical expertise and organisational experience.

Focus on Renewable Energy Expansion

This appointment comes at a time when BHEL is actively strengthening its renewable energy capabilities, particularly in the solar segment.

The company aims to:

  • Enhance its solar project execution capacity
  • Improve innovation in clean energy technologies
