Patna: Bihar Cooperation Minister Ram Kripal Yadav has donated his entire one-month salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for people affected by floods across the state. Cooperative institutions have also contributed ₹3 crore towards relief efforts.
The minister handed over the cheque at ‘Sankalp’ in Lok Sevak Awas. The contribution comes as several districts of Bihar continue to deal with the impact of flooding.
Cooperative Institutions Contribute ₹3 Crore
The Bihar State Warehousing Corporation contributed ₹2 crore, while the Bihar State Cooperative Bank Limited, Patna, contributed another ₹1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Along with the minister’s salary contribution, the total amount donated by the Cooperation Department and institutions associated with the cooperative sector has crossed ₹3 crore.

Aid to Reach Flood-Affected Families
Yadav said a large number of people have been affected by floods in several districts of Bihar. He described support for affected families during the disaster as a social responsibility.
The amount deposited in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund will be used for relief and assistance for flood-affected and other needy people.
The minister also said the cooperative sector has traditionally remained involved in social causes. According to him, the contribution from the department and its institutions reflects their commitment to supporting people during a crisis.
Officials Attend Contribution Programme
Senior officials and representatives of the Cooperation Department and cooperative institutions were present when the contributions were handed over.
Those present included Cooperation Department Secretary Dharmendra Singh, Bihar State Cooperative Bank Chairman Ramesh Chandra Choubey, directors Vinay Kumar and Jitendra Kumar, Managing Director Arvind Kumar Paswan, and BISCОMAN Chairman Vishal Singh.
The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund will use the contributions for relief and support measures for people affected by floods and other disasters.
