18,000 Entrepreneurs, 38 Districts: Bihar Takes MSME Training to the Grassroots

Patna: Bihar is taking entrepreneurship training to the grassroots, with around 18,000 entrepreneurs trained so far under a state-wide MSME development programme. The initiative is being conducted across all 38 districts in phases since June to strengthen local enterprises and encourage new MSMEs.

The programme is being implemented by the Directorate of MSME under the Industries Department through a three-day, non-residential Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP).

Entrepreneurs Learn Practical Business Skills

The training focuses on practical areas that can help entrepreneurs establish and manage their businesses more effectively. Participants are being trained in Udyam Registration, financial literacy, GST, digital marketing, packaging, branding, e-commerce and ZED.

The programme also explains the processes involved in accessing loans and subsidies, including application procedures and bank linkage. Participants receive free meals during the training, while successful trainees are provided certificates after completion.

Link With Key Government Schemes

Entrepreneurs are also being connected with several government schemes that can support business creation and expansion.

These include Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, Startup Bihar, PMFME, PM Vishwakarma and PMEGP. The training provides information on eligibility, application procedures and bank linkage so that entrepreneurs can better understand and access available support.

Training Reaches Registered MSMEs

The EDP programme is available to all registered MSMEs and their employees, allowing existing businesses as well as their workforce to benefit from the training.

The focus on packaging, branding and digital marketing is also intended to help local businesses improve their products and reach wider markets through online platforms.

Push for Village-Level Enterprise Growth

By conducting the programme across all 38 districts, Bihar is taking MSME support beyond major urban centres. The initiative aims to strengthen entrepreneurial skills at the local level and encourage the development of new enterprises in villages and smaller towns.

The Industries Department expects the effort to contribute to skill development, stronger local businesses and new employment opportunities across the state.
