Patna: Bihar has launched Shri Sant Ravidas Development Camps across 1,125 Scheduled Caste-dominated hamlets under the Shri Guru Sant Ravidas Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan. The initiative aims to connect every eligible family with government welfare schemes while identifying and resolving issues at the local level.

Welfare Schemes Taken to Hamlets

The camps focus on reaching families directly rather than waiting for beneficiaries to approach government offices. Officials are collecting family-level information, checking existing benefits and identifying eligible households that remain outside welfare schemes.

Residents are also being informed about various welfare and social security programmes. Officials are helping eligible beneficiaries complete the necessary processes so government assistance can reach them more easily.

Target of 100% Welfare Coverage

The campaign has set a target of achieving 100% coverage of Scheduled Caste-dominated hamlets under government welfare schemes.

Officials are assessing which schemes each family already receives and where gaps remain. Based on this assessment, eligible families will be connected with the relevant schemes.

This approach is expected to help identify beneficiaries who may otherwise face difficulties in accessing government support.

Camps Every Thursday

The development camps will continue from August 27, 2026, to February 15, 2027.

Camps will be organised every Thursday in designated hamlets. Regular visits will allow officials to track unresolved issues and maintain continuous contact with families that need assistance.

Campaign Moves from Yatra to Ground Outreach

The development camps form the next phase of the Shri Guru Ravidas 650th birth anniversary campaign.

As part of the campaign, a Kalash Yatra was organised across Bihar from August 18 to 20. The focus has now shifted towards direct outreach through development camps.

During September and October, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) vehicles will also travel through areas to spread awareness about government welfare schemes.

Focus on ‘No Eligible Family Left Behind’

The campaign aims to ensure that welfare schemes reach eligible families at the hamlet and household level. Along with providing information, officials are assisting beneficiaries with the process required to access government benefits.

The initiative could strengthen last-mile welfare delivery by combining local identification, awareness and beneficiary support. It also seeks to promote social harmony and inclusive development by ensuring wider access to government programmes.
